Google Headphone Design

The project description was to design a pair of headphones based on Googles design philosophy. In this process, students were to research googles existing designs, with attention to material usage, form, and core aesthetics.

Finding Inspiration in Google’s Designs

I began looking for inspiration in googles existing designs. I explored their usage of muted colors, subtle branding, as well as a minimal design language.

Form Exploration

Form exploration began with designing modular ear pieces, as well as different fitment methods and silhouettes. During this stage in the design process, I payed close attention to how I could shape my designs with Google in mind.

 In the final form, I choose to focus on capturing the essence of Google’s aesthetic, minimalism and elegance. In this, I choose to retain their signature soft curvature, user-friendly materials, and straightforward ergonomics.

Alternative color Exploration

Alternative color options were explored again, especially those related to googles core product line. These included muted reds and blacks, maintaining the simplicity and elegance key to googles design philosophy.
